On July 13, 2022, Asian Institute of Technology cooperated with the Faculty of Environment of Van Lang University to organize a seminar to announce the progress of the international project PEER Cycle 9 – “Nano-assisted bioremediation of diffused dioxins in soil and sediment”. This project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Asian Institute of Technology ( tài xỉu , Thailand), and Institute of Technology. Asian Technology in Vietnam ( tài xỉu VN) joint research.

During the seminar, the representatives of the units presented the progress of the project and discussed the options to handle the problems to continue developing the project in the coming time. At the same time, scientists also presented and discussed issues related to dioxin treatment in soil and sediment at Bien Hoa Airbase.
In the near future, the international project “Nano-assets bioremediation of diffused dioxins in soil and sediment” will be continued by experts to aim at building technology to treat soil and sediment in contaminated areas. dioxins from the war period in contaminated hot spots such as Bien Hoa airport, Phu Cat airport, and Da Nang airport so that the treated land can be converted into a public area and planted with trees.
