The 4ones lofts are live-work units designed to provide efficient yet dramatic condos as an alternative to the nondescript, poorly constructed buildings prevalent on the market at the time. The site, located in the Pike Pine corridor in Seattle is a small vacant lot surrounded by old warehouse loft buildings. The choice of a steel, concrete and glass structure maximizes the space and light on this constricted urban infill lot. The units are organized in tall vertical spaces with bridge like mezzanines located at different heights throughout the space. Both ends, North and South have full walls of glass. Each unit is afforded a generous outdoor green space on the south side where the entries are to encourage outdoor living and foster a sense of community.
